The boys surprised some lucky fans today at MuchMusic on New.Music.Live for a quick chat. Check out the article below.
40 excited One Direction fans had their dreams come true earlier today! Niall, Zayn, Harry, Liam, and Louis did a secret appearance at the MuchMusic headquarters downtown Toronto. The small crowd of “Directioners” were given the chance to get up close and personal with the UK boy band about their album, tour, and more.
You can watch the moment Friday April 20th at 6pm ET on NEW.MUSIC.LIVE.
After making it to no.1 in the US, the boys can quite rightly hit back at claims they’re ‘not competition’.
One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson has responded to comments that The Wanted‘s Max George made before 1D’s album success was announced.
Having now made history with their no.1 debut, Louis told InDemand radio: “We haven’t seen the boys, I’ve only read in the press what they might have said, but as far as where we stand I think it’s all pretty silly to be honest.
“We are 2 boy bands but we actually make quite different music.”
Just last week Max was chatting happily about The Wanted’s chart success in the US with their single, Glad You Came, and claimed 1D weren’t competition to them just yet.
He said: “Our song is number four in the charts. Maybe when they have a song right next to us in the charts over there, they’ll be competition.”
Ouch, we wonder what The Wanted boys will make of 1D as competition now…
While there have been rumors flaring around the internet lately about the boys getting their own TV show in America, Louis finally beats down the rumors confirming that there is no TV show in the works.
One Direction have denied that they are involved in a TV show for the Nickelodeon channel.
Band member Louis Tomlinson has said that “personally” he is not keen to starting a TV career alongside his music.
Speaking to US radio station In Demand, Louis said: “I think there must have been some misunderstanding. We are doing the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards, but as far as a TV show goes we haven’t sat down and had that conversation.”
Earlier this month Nickelodeon posted on twitter to say the group were involved in a “development project”.
Tomlinson added: “To be honest, if it was up to me personally; I just want to focus on the music for now.”
However, bandmate Niall Horan said: “Nickelodeon have been amazing to us. They have helped us out so much while we’ve been here.”
The X Factor stars have filmed a guest appearance in iCarly on the network.

And the next host of “Saturday Night Live” is … Sofia Vergara!
On the Jonah Hill-hosted March 10 installment of the late-night sketch comedy show, it was revealed that spicy“Modern Family” star Sofia Vergara will take a spin as “SNL” host in the April 7 episode of the show. The Golden Globe- and Emmy-nominated actress plays Gloria Delgado-Pritchett on the hit ABC sitcom and has her hands full with a clothing line and spokesperson gigs for CoverGirl and Pepsi.
The musical guest is One Direction, the British boy band currently invading American shores and hypnotizing teen and tween girls.
